Scott Clay Products
Terry and Maureen Scott purchased 278 Cook Street in 1998 to expand the Scott Clay Product business. Scott Clay was a Meaford-based clay pot manufacturer which operated from 1988 to 2007. At one point Scott Clay was the largest manufacturer of clay pots in Canada, with distribution across the country and in the US, with the majority of clients being large nursery centres, but also including national chains like Home Hardware and Lee Valley Tools.
International competition and big box stores eventually undercut the market for Canadian made clay pots, and the Scott family moved out of the manufacturing sector to focus on building the opportunities present in their large building, and investing in solar power.
